Micro-needling and mesotherapy

What is
microneedling

Microneedling (or mesotherapy) is a collagen induction therapy that reduces appearance of lines and wrinkles, improves skin texture, smoothens scars and stretch marks and helps rejuvenation of scalp tissue by reducing hair loss and encouraging new hair growth.

The microneedling technology used
at our clinic

In our ongoing quest to offer our patients the most efficient treatments on the market, we are proud to announce our latest innovative treatment eDermastamp® by Dermaroller®, the benchmark for excellence in micro-needling therapy. Medical grade, certified needles are made in Germany and they meet all necessary standards and conditions to ensure precise penetration of skin layers and offer maximum safety.

How does a
mesotherapy treatment take place?

This treatment is performed by a certified technician in our clinic and conforms to state-of-the-art standards. To ensure comfort for our patients, our technician applies a topical anaesthetic cream 30 minutes before the micro-needling treatment begins, this way the procedure is painless. The device uses a single use sterile hand-held tip for treatment. Medical grade Hyaluronic acid is applied to treated areas. Surgical micro-needles perforate the skin deep within the epidermis causing minuscule droplets of blood to rise to the skin surface, thus stimulating the body healing process.

Inside the blood droplets produced by the body, we find, along with other elements, growth factors that when mixed with hyaluronic acid bonify the effects of the treatment.

To complete the treatment, a mask engorged with hyaluronic acid and antioxidant ingredients is applied. Within minutes after treatment, the tiny perforations retract, and the healing process begins.

During the healing process, new elastic fibers producing collagen appear. New tissue structure is generated in the form of collagen and elastin fibers. With each new treatment, the epidermis thickens and elasticity increases.

After a
microneedling treatment

As a rule, 3 to 6 treatments are proposed with a 6-week pause between treatments.

Convalescence is not required, for this type of treatment. Patients can expect slight redness immediately after treatment. Redness normally disappears within 24 to 48 hours. We recommend not wearing make-up only for the first 24 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Microneedling involves creating micro-perforations with controlled surgical-grade needles on the skin’s surface to stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin.

Mesotherapy relies on the application or infusion of active ingredient complexes (vitamins, hyaluronic acid, peptides) to improve hydration, radiance, and skin quality.

These two techniques are often combined to optimize results.

Microneedling and mesotherapy are indicated to:

  • improve skin texture and quality
  • reduce the appearance of fine lines
  • minimize the appearance of enlarged pores
  • enhance skin radiance
  • even out skin texture
  • support the treatment of mild scarring and superficial hyperpigmentation
  • hydrate the skin

A protocol of 3 to 6 sessions, spaced 6 weeks apart, is generally recommended. The exact number depends on the aesthetic goals, the condition of the skin, and the individual response to the treatment.

The level of pain is generally mild to moderate. A topical anesthetic cream is applied beforehand, which limits discomfort related to the treatment.

Side effects are temporary and may include:

  • redness (erythema)
  • a sensation of warmth or tightness
  • mild edema (skin swelling)

These reactions usually resolve within 24 to 72 hours.

Treatments are contraindicated in cases of:

  • pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • active skin infection
  • inflammatory dermatological conditions
  • bleeding or coagulation disorders
  • use of certain anticoagulant medications

A medical evaluation is always performed prior to treatment.

When performed by qualified professionals, microneedling and mesotherapy have an excellent safety profile. Complications are rare and may include infection, prolonged inflammation, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Offered as a complement to our microneedling treatment, the corresponding at-home regimen consists of a personalized skincare protocol to be used between sessions. It helps to:

  • extend and optimize clinical results
  • support skin regeneration
  • improve hydration and strengthen the skin barrier

It is an integral part of the recommended treatment plan.
