Brachioplasty

When liposuction is not enough

Brachioplasty or arm lift is aimed at removing redundant skin and bothersome, unsightly-looking adipose tissues from arms.

The surgery consists in making a longitudinal incision underneath the arm and in excising redundant skin (Figure 2). After the removal of excess fat and skin, sutures are made and a dressing is applied which must be worn for several days. During all surgical procedures, a constant verification of the blood pressure is made by an intermittent pressure of the arm. Therefore, this surgery is done one arm at a time with a period of 1 or 2 months between the two arms.

Following the operation, patients must wear a custom made compressive vest for a period of 3 to 4 weeks.
Convalescence takes at least 14 days.
