The importance of expertise

The first step of the procedure consists in making an incision measuring a few millimetres inside the mouth, under the chin, or under the lashes of the lower lid, depending on the case. The small pouch where the implant will be inserted is then dissected. The implant is then positioned on the subjacent bony structure and the incision is closed.

Facial implant surgery can be performed under local anaesthetic with sedation or under general anaesthetic. The average duration of the intervention is approximately one hour.
