The gastrocnemius and soleus muscles that make up the calf are responsible for the general shape of the leg. Some people work out extensively but are still unable to develop these muscles sufficiently.
It is now possible to increase the gastrocnemius muscle thanks to pre-formed solid silicone implants.
Calf surgery is carried out under general anaesthesia. An incision to insert the implant is made in the crease behind the knee. The incision measures approximately 5 cm.
The cavity is prepared and the implant is inserted under the fascia (envelope covering the gastrocnemius muscle).
