BRACHIOPLASTY... When liposuction is not enough


Brachioplasty or arm lift is aimed at removing redundant skin and bothersome, unsightly-looking adipose tissues from arms.

The surgery consists in making a longitudinal incision underneath the arm and in excising redundant skin (Figure 2). After the removal of excess fat and skin, sutures are made and a dressing is applied which must be worn for several days. Brachioplasty may be performed in conjunction with liposuction for extensive removal of fatty tissue both from arms and laterally from chest.

Following the operation, patients must wear a custom made compressive vest for a period of 3 to 4 weeks.

Convalescence takes at least 14 days.
